| 1/23/2008 - Suspicious Fire | On Staturday, August 25th 2007 at about 5:43pm, a fire was reported at 48-50 Soputh Bayles Ave., Port Washington. The fire spread rapidly from the rear of the building and totally consumed the structure, causing the roof to collapse and several walls to fall. It took over 7 hours, 14 departments, and 250 firefighters to bring the blaze under control. Three local businesses were lost as a result of this fire.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for setting this fire.
In addition, $3,000.00 is being offered by business owners at the scene for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for this act.
