Crime Stoppers is a “not-for-profit organization,” exempt from taxes under section 501 C3 of the Internal Revenue Code and operated in conjunction with the Nassau County Police Department.  Our supporters represent a cross section of the business community, local community, organizations and private citizens who, along with our distinguished Board members are dedicated to this innovative and effective approach to fighting crime.

Since it’s inception on March 20, 1995, Crime Stoppers has received over 5,000 tips, which have been or are being investigated as valid leads. Crime Stoppers has also been instrumental in arrests for crimes such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, rape, grand larceny, sale of narcotics and possession of forged instruments.  Nassau County Crime Stoppers presents callers with rewards of up to $5,000 and thus far has distributed over $175000 in reward money. 

Crime Stoppers is seeking your financial help to assist the Nassau County Police Department in its effort to identify, apprehend and bring to justice individuals who have committed crimes.  Your monetary contribution to the Crime Stoppers Program will continue to afford us the opportunity to give reward money for information that enables our Police Department to remove these individuals from our society.
